John Freeman is the editor of Freeman’s, a biannual literary journal published by Grove Press. He has written two works of nonfiction, The “Tyranny of E-mail” and “How to Read a Novelist,” and edited “Tales of Two Cities,” an anthology of writing about New York City and its current inequality crisis. The former editor of Granta and one-time president of the National Book Critics Circle, his work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review and The New York Times. His debut poetry collection, Maps, will be published next year. He is currently executive editor at The Literary Hub, and teaches writing at the New School and NYU. His work has been translated into more than twenty languages.
